The story of this film is adapted from the Old Testament and is presided over by Orson Welles as King Saul. The Phillistines declare war on the Israelites and wrench the Arch of Alliance from them. Saul listens to the words of the prophets, who tell him that the new king will be a young shepherd named David. But David has to fight the enemy - their mighty giant Goliath.
